Supporting the Community
IN-SYNQ Rhino/Grasshopper - Unreal Engine live bridge is open-source and free, making real-time parametric design in Unreal Engine accessible to everyone. Unlike other costly tools, this bridge empowers the 3D community with an affordable, collaborative solution for dynamic, iterative workflows.
What's Next?
We want to become the reference for live interoperability between Rhino/Grasshopper and Unreal Engine. Future plans include to expand to AR/VR, go multiplatform, and explore a cloud-based pixel-streaming service-fostering an open-source ecosystem where the community can contribute and innovate together.
Next Steps
Send Multiple Meshes: Expand functionality to support multiple meshes.
Develop Core Bridge: Implement Web Socket and serialized file-based bridge for robust data transfer.
Two-Way Control: Enable bi-directional communication, allowing Unreal Engine sliders to adjust Grasshopper scripts in real time.
Multi-User Support: Enable multiple users to collaborate on LAN and pixel streaming with dedicated Unreal Engine and Rhino instances.
Support Geometry Types: Translate and send various geometry types (points, curves, surfaces, polysurfaces, solids, SubD, extrusions, meshes) via the Procedural Mesh Module.
Textures and Materials: Transfer texture and material data from Rhino/Grasshopper to Unreal Engine.
Cameras / Named Views: Synchronize camera views between Grasshopper and Unreal Engine.
Lights: Transfer lighting data and settings from Rhino/Grasshopper to Unreal Engine.
Geolocation Support: Implement origin translation and geolocation capabilities.
Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation for developers and users.
Create Distributables: Package the bridge into easily deployable plugins for Grasshopper and Unreal Engine.
